About usAIM Solutions is an early-stage deep-tech startup in Eindhoven building inspection and metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry. We are in active build phase, small, and growing.The roleYou own everything that moves in our tool. You are responsible for the wafer stage, the wafer handling and the focusing system, and for any other active component in the machine. You work between mechanics, electronics and software, and you become our in-house expert on precision motion.You will:Integrate and tune the wafer stage and its control together with embedded engineers and electrical engineersDevelop the wafer handling, from loading to alignment, together with the mechanical engineerDevelop the focusing system and keep the wafer in the right place throughout a measurementOwn the other active components in the system: actuators, sensors and their controlSynchronize motion with the rest of the tool, together with the embedded and software engineersCharacterize performance in the lab, such as accuracy, settling and drift, and turn the data into design decisionsYour profile3+ years of hands-on experience in mechatronics or precision motion in high-tech equipment (5+ years preferred)Practical experience with precision stages, actuators and position sensorsGood knowledge of control engineering: feedback and feedforward control, system identification, loop shapingExperience with commercial motion controllers and scripting themYou enjoy debugging across mechanics, electronics and software, and you turn vague problems into repeatable testsFull professional proficiency in EnglishBonus:Wafer stages, wafer handling or focus and level sensing in semiconductor equipmentError budgeting and dynamics for nanometer-level systemsExperience with FPGA-based control systemsHardware triggering and real-time systemsWafer handling robots, EFEMs or SEMI standardsWe care more about rigor and learning speed than about a perfect match.
