Finance has kept pace, but the processes underneath were built for a much smaller company, and our first statutory audit is coming. This role exists to build the controls and reporting discipline a business at this scale should already have.🎯 The RoleWe're hiring a Financial Controller to own Fanvue's financial operations and reporting, reporting directly to our VP Finance.This is hands-on. You will own statutory reporting, compliance and management accounting, while strengthening controls, improving reporting accuracy and taking cost out. It suits a qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge under IFRS, commercial instincts, and experience building finance processes that scale rather than inheriting ones that already work.You will have real influence on how the finance function is built, because much of it is still being built.🚀 What You'll DoLead the month-end and quarter-end close, delivering timely and accurate reportingPrepare management accounts, cash flow forecasts and variance analysisOwn statutory reporting and compliance under IFRS and UK GAAPManage VAT filings, PAYE submissions and annual HMRC returnsMaintain and optimise Xero and the wider finance stack, including Dext, Pleo and ApprovalMaxSupport annual audits and manage the relationship with external accountantsStrengthen internal controls, financial policies and reporting processesPartner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting and margin improvementTake on projects including R&D tax credit claims and system integrations👀 Who You AreQualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA4 to 6 years post-qualification, ideally from Big Four, a regional practice, or high-growth tech or digitalStrong knowledge of IFRS and UK statutory reportingProficient in Xero and comfortable with finance automation toolsExperienced with VAT and HMRC complianceComfortable with consolidations and multi-currency accountingStrong analytically, precise on detail, and proactive rather than reactiveAt ease in a fast-moving, hands-on environmentNice to haveExperience in the creator economy, a marketplace, a subscription platform or fintechExposure to R&D tax credits, multi-entity or multi-currency accounting✨ You'll Thrive Here IfYou want to build the finance function rather than run one someone else designedYou would rather fix the process than work around it for another quarterYou like being close to commercial decisions instead of reporting on them afterwardsYou are comfortable being the person who says the number is wrong, and then finding out why⚠️ You'll Struggle Here IfYou want established processes, a settled close calendar and a team already in placeYou would rather specialise deeply than cover a broad surfaceYou need someone senior to define the controls before you can implement themYou are uncomfortable with a business that changes shape faster than the reporting can keep up🌍 Why Join Fanvue?Sunday Times Best Places to Work, two years running.
