About the Role

We seek a strategic and execution-driven Director of Marketing to lead our marketing activities across the DACH region and reinforce our position as a full-service payment provider.This role is responsible for developing and executing a localized marketing strategy that drives brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You own marketing outcomes for DACH end-to-end. While operating within a global organization, your primary focus is to ensure strong regional impact by translating broader strategic direction into locally effective execution..You act as a senior sparring partner to leadership and take clear ownership of decisions in a dynamic, competitive, and highly regulated market.Requirements🚀 Key ResponsibilitiesRegional Marketing StrategyDevelop and execute a comprehensive DACH marketing strategy aligned with regional and global objectives and regional market dynamicsIdentify growth opportunities, customer segments, and key verticals within the payments ecosystemOwn the regional product marketing function for DACH, ensuring market requirements, customer feedback, and competitive insights are translated into product strategy and roadmap prioritiesContinuously adapt strategy based on local market developments, competition, and regulatory changesDemand Generation & Pipeline GrowthOwn regional pipeline targets and drive demand generation through integrated campaigns (digital, events, partnerships, content)Optimize performance marketing channels and lead lifecycle managementBrand & PositioningStrengthen brand presence and thought leadership in the DACH fintech and payments landscapeDevelop and execute the DACH events strategy, including industry conferences, customer events to support brand awareness, customer engagement, and pipeline generationOwn DACH public relations activities, including media relations, press releases, executive communications, thought leadership programs, and reputation managementCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Sales to align on go-to-market strategies and account-based marketing initiativesWork closely with Global Product teams to translate market requirements and product capabilities into compelling value propositions and commercial opportunities.Team LeadershipBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing regional marketing team across Martinsried and HamburgDrive a performance-oriented, accountable, and hands-on team cultureManage external agencies and partnersMarket IntelligenceMonitor competitive landscape, industry trends, and regulatory developments in fintech and paymentsTranslate insights into actionable strategiesBudget & Performance Management, Internal EventsOwn regional marketing budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources aligned with regional prioritiesTrack, analyze, and report on KPIs, ROI, and campaign effectivenessEstablish clear planning cycles and performance transparency across stakeholdersOrganisation of internal events🧭​ Leadership & Operating ContextAct as the clear marketing owner for DACH, with end-to-end accountability for outcomesOperate effectively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and prioritiesMake decisions with confidence, even in incomplete or ambiguous situationsBalance strategic thinking with hands-on executionAdapt quickly to changing market, regulatory, and business conditionsProvide clear, data-driven recommendations and act as a trusted advisor to leadershipMaintain focus, structure, and impact in a fast-paced and evolving environment💫 Qualifications & Experience8 - 12+ years of experience in B2B marketing, ideally within fintech, payments, SaaS, or financial servicesProven track record of driving growth and pipeline generation in the DACH regionDeep understanding of the payments ecosystem (e.g., PSPs, acquiring, issuing, digital wallets, open banking)Experience operating in complex and matrixed organizationsStrong leadership experience with the ability to build and develop high performing teamsData-driven mindset with expertise in marketing analytics and automation toolsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence across functionsFluent in German and English (mandatory)Experience in high-growth or scale-up environmentsFamiliarity with regulatory frameworks in financial services (e.g., PSD2, AML, KYC)Strong network within the DACH fintech/payments communityBenefitsHybrid Work: At epay, you’ll have the opportunity to work for a global company - with up to two days working remote.Culture: Our culture thrives where people communicate openly, support one another and take responsibility together.
